School Based Mentoring

School-based Mentoring offers young people up to the age of 18 (or a bit older if they have learning difficulties) a chance to experience a supportive, non-judgmental one to one relationship with someone they can trust and rely upon…a Mentor.

Our mentors are dedicated unpaid volunteers who are diverse individuals with a passion for the role. Mentors come from every walk of life and will spend time each week with an identified young person, helping them to strengthen and develop their skills, grow in self-confidence, increase social awareness and unlock their potential.

A mentor will be a constructive and consistent role model in the young person’s life and through listening, understanding and encouraging will aim to provide support for a positive change.

All relationships are carried out in consultation with the school and parents/guardians, who will remain informed of the progress throughout (whilst maintaining confidentiality!).
